Expert on student news, saving money and banking
As a Head of Editorial at Save the Student, Laura Brown ensured the site's content was kept as up-to-date, accurate and engaging as possible.
She made the decision to turn her love of writing into a career as a History of Art student at the Courtauld Institute of Art, when she won the Clothes Show's Young Journalist of the Year Award 2015.
Following this, she gained experience as an editor for a student publication and as a freelance writer before joining Save the Student in 2019.
Alongside overseeing the site's editorial content, a big part of Laura's role was writing the reports for Save the Student's annual surveys. These include the National Student Money Survey and the National Student Accommodation Survey.
Our student surveys receive national media coverage, which led Laura to present our findings to influential people, both in and beyond the Higher Education industry, such as senior members of university staff and MPs.
Laura has been quoted as a financial expert in several publications, including the BBC, the Observer, the Guardian and Metro.
