Seasonal sales to watch out for

There are plenty of seasonal sales and deals to keep an eye out for throughout the year. Sale shopping can save you a ton of money and make your student budget stretch further. Check out our tips for saving money on Valentine’s gifts, Easter eggs, summer dresses and Christmas shopping.

Wine and dine on a budget with Valentine’s Day meal deals

You don’t need to spend a fortune for a successful Valentine’s Day date. Almost all major supermarkets have Valentine’s Day meal deal offers, where you can usually pick up a low-cost three-course meal for two with wine or beer.

Check out our guide to 10 surprisingly thoughtful gifts for £5 and under for budget-friendly gift inspiration, or watch out for Valentine’s Day deals here at Save the Student from late January to early February.

Don’t buy Easter eggs too far in advance

Easter eggs can be expensive, especially considering what you get for your money. Resist the urge to buy them as soon as you see them, and wait until nearer the Easter bank holiday weekend. You’ll usually find that you can save at least 50% off by playing the long game.

One sale worth watching out for is the Hotel Chocolat Easter sale. Its luxury range is usually way beyond any student budget, but once the sale starts, you can pick up some incredible bargains.

Make the end of season sales work to your advantage

Shopping in the end of season sales can save you a ton of money on clothing and accessories, but often it means buying summer clothes once the good weather is already drawing to an end, or winter clothes when the sun is coming back out again.

Never pay full price for clothing again by shopping the end of season sales and storing your purchases away until the following year. Most items like staple summer dresses, vests, and t-shirts don’t go out of fashion, and it’ll be a pleasant surprise when you go to unbox your sale buys!

Christmas doesn’t have to be costly

Christmas can be a pretty expensive time for most people, but at Save the Student we share amazing December deals to save you some cash. Popular Christmas offers include Boots’ Star Buy deals, as well as the Co-op Christmas meal deal.

Check out our top tips for festive fun on a budget, and watch out for the January Sales, or gift discounts if you’re looking to treat yourself.
