BT student discount

BT (otherwise known as British Telecom) is known for its landline and broadband packages, but also offers TV packages (including the popular BT Sport) and even mobile phone contracts.

You can’t get a discount on all services, but they do offer deals to students throughout the year, which you can find here.

If you are looking to set up your broadband or home phone for your student accommodation then BT is a trusted company to go for. They offer a choice of 12 or 24-month contracts for students when you sign up with your university email address!

It can be tricky to work out which BT package you need when it comes to broadband – you don’t want to pay over the odds for speeds you don’t necessarily need, but you need to remember you’ll be sharing your connection with others in your shared house!

BT options include:

• Fibre Essential, for reliable everyday browsing, streaming and sharing
• Fibre 1, for reliable superfast browsing, streaming and sharing
• Fibre 2, for even faster browsing, streaming and sharing, with an average speed of 67mb

Each option is available at a 12-month contract, so you can choose which fits best with your term times and tenancy.

It’s worth noting that the BT TV deals are not available as a nine-month contract, so think carefully before you commit to one of these as you could end up paying for periods when you’re unable to use the service.
