Starting out 75 years ago with one man delivering eggs and yeast via pushbike, today the brand is well known for its sausage rolls and doughnuts, plus a lot, lot more! It’s a huge chain, with locations all across the country - there are over 1,700 in total, with the original Greggs bakery still standing in Gosforth, North East England.

And while it might not be the healthiest food, Greggs is committed to serving food that’s free of the nasty stuff, so you won’t find any artificial colours, flavours, added trans fats or MSG. It’s simply good food!

Greggs offers a huge selection of food and beverages, from breakfast rolls and baguettes to toasties and sandwiches. You’ll also find the brand’s range of sausage rolls, melts and bakes, alongside pasties, slices of pizza and a wide range of sweet treats like doughnuts, yum yums and muffins. Healthier options are also available with Greggs’ Balanced Choice range, which includes fairtrade juices, creamy porridge and delicious tomato soup.

And if you want to get your Greggs fix when your local is shut, you’ll be happy to hear that you can buy most of the range at Iceland to cook at home!

How can I get my student freebie?

It’s easy! Just follow the below steps:

• Head to Greggs and present your Student Beans ID or valid student card
• Purchase a sandwich deal - this includes any selected sandwich and cold drink (or a regular hot drink)
• Choose your freebie from the following options:
  • Sausage Roll

  • Cheese & Onion Bake
  • Sweet treat (in selected stores only - excludes multipacks)

Is this student deal available in all stores?

It’s not available at Greggs MOTO franchise shops (the ones you find at MOTO service stations), and you can’t get it if you order for click and collect or for delivery via Just Eat.

Greggs offers, and promotions

You won’t usually find discounted items in-store as standard, but Greggs regularly have great promotions through the popular Greggs Rewards app (more on that below). Sometimes, Greggs team up with Vodafone VeryMe or O2 Priority to bring you special exclusive offers.

Greggs has a great loyalty scheme for regular customers, known as Greggs Rewards. To access it, all you need to do is download the Greggs Rewards app.

You’ll then be able to collect stamps whenever you buy anything to redeem against future purchases - nine stamps in a category will lead to a free item - it’s as simple as that!

Greggs also frequently offer freebies through the Greggs Rewards app, such as free slices of pizza or free drinks. Keep an eye out for these, as they can lead to a free lunch!
