McDonald's is a hugely popular fast food chain in the UK, where having a McDonald’s student meal after a day filled with lectures is almost considered a right of passage. You probably know that McDonald’s restaurants sell a wide range of hot drinks and meals including hamburgers, salads, wraps, breakfasts and much more.

McDonald’s remains a firm favourite among students because of the amazing deals and discounts on offer as well as one-time McDonald’s voucher codes and promotions such as McDonald's monopoly.

We’re pretty sure you’ll already be familiar with the McDonald’s menu, but here’s a quick rundown in case you’re not! The day starts with delicious McDonald’s breakfasts – muffins, pancakes, flatbreads and, our personal favourites, hash browns. From 11am onwards, McDonald’s serves a huge selection of burgers, chicken McNuggets and Selects, and vegetarian and vegan offerings like the McPlant and Vegetable Deluxe. Finish it all off with a McFlurry, Donut, or Apple Pie!

Can you get student discount at McDonald's?

While there used to be a free student Cheeseburger, Mayo Chicken, or McFlurry, there is, unfortunately, no student discount available at the moment.

However, it’s still easy to get your free food at McDonald's. Just follow the simple steps outlined below.

For ordering in-restaurant or at the drive-thru:

• Look for offers in your Mcdonald's app
• Place your order
• Show your unique offer code

For ordering for McDelivery or via the My McDonald’s app:

• Generate your code via the McDonald's app
• Place your order
• Claim your discount

You can also earn points each time you buy something at Mcdonald's which will give you free stuff.

Can students get free food at McDonald's?

No - the McDonald's student discount is no longer available to students.

Is there a minimum order value I need to meet to get McDonald’s free food?

There’s no minimum order value as such, but you need to make sure you’re ordering within the terms of your offer in your app.

Are any McFlurry or Cheeseburgers excluded from the offer?

When the student offer was live you could only claim a free standard Cheeseburger (no Double Cheeseburgers, sorry!) and a free McFlurry that isn’t part of a promotional range.
