TalkTalk is a supplier of TV, phone and broadband in the UK, and is usually one of the cheapest options on the market. That said, it’s always wise to compare current broadband deals and TV deals before committing to a contract with any supplier.

The brand always has loads of bundles and offers available, and as a student, saving money on your bills is one of the best ways you can save money!

You can just get broadband and a phone line on its own with TalkTalk or you can throw in TV with the package if you fancy it (depending on your budget, of course).

As with most bills and utility firms, there is, unfortunately, no TalkTalk student discount available.

It can be tricky to work out which TalkTalk package you need when it comes to broadband – you don’t want to pay over the odds for speeds you don’t necessarily need, but you need to remember you’ll be sharing your connection with others in your shared house!

TalkTalk options include:

• Fibre 35, for browsing and streaming essentials
• Fibre 65, for super-fast streaming and gaming
• Fibre 150, ultrafast for super busy homes
• Fibre 150 Data Only, known as “the last broadband connection you’ll ever need”

Each option is available with an 18-month contract – so think carefully if your tenancy is shorter than this or you’re planning to move soon. You could end up having to continue paying for the service, even though you aren’t using it.

Look out for the best student-friendly deals around the start of term, or around key sales events like Black Friday and Boxing Day. Watch out for flyers and exclusive discounts at Fresher’s Fairs as well, as this is sometimes when you can bag the best bargains!
