The Co-op student discount

The Co-op is a well known UK brand and its chain of supermarkets were the first to offer a student discount. Here at Save the Student, we campaigned for a supermarket to offer a student discount for a long time now so we were so glad that The Co-op decided to go ahead with one!

However, they've since decided to cancel the student discount in every location apart from Scotland and it doesn't look set to be launched again any time soon.

Without the discount, the retailer is known to be a little more pricey than the regular supermarkets. However, it is worth keeping an eye out for their excellent meal deals.

Yes - The Co-op student discount is available to all students in Scotland, aged 11-25, whether you’re studying part-time, full-time, or through a distance-learning course.

Yes, if you’re in Leeds, Liverpool or Manchester! And the best part? It costs just 99p! It’ll be with you in two hours too, so it’s perfect when you’ve got nothing left in the fridge or freezer and need a top-up ASAP.

The Co-op Deliveries

You can now shop online and have Co-op Food orders delivered to your door in as little as two hours (in selected areas). There is a low minimum spend of just £15, which is excellent.

Selected Co-op stores also offer to take shopping you buy in-store to your home for you - which saves you having to carry it home - especially handy for students who don't live close to the store and have bought heavy items like booze! If you spend over £25 they'll deliver it for completely free, too!

As mentioned above, if you’re in halls in Leeds, Liverpool or Manchester, you can have your shopping delivered within two hours for just 99p.
